The large, decorated bronze amphora is unique on a European scale. It was probably made to order by the elite of the time, and the remaining artefacts from this find were placed into it. We know of only twelve, including the exhibit here, such vessels in the whole of Europe.
The amphora contained unique artefacts – both in terms of their archaeological value and as interesting art exhibits – that are rarely encountered in Polish lands: bronze vessels, elements of a horse’s harness, fibulae (brooches), ceremonial ornaments such as bracelets, necklaces and breastplates as well as clasps to fasten clothing and a decorative diadem.
